Learn how to grow elderberries for food and medicine, right in your own backyard! Elderberries can be grown from cuttings, starts, or seeds. Growing elderberries is easy!
Why Grow Your Own Elderberry Shrubs?
Elderberries have become extremely popular in recent years due to their powerful immune boosting properties. Because of this popularity herbal shops and online retailers will often be sold out by the time fall gets underway!
This is frustrating for those of us who want to make our own elderberry syrup or elderberry tincture for cold and flu season. The good news is that growing elderberries in your backyard is really easy!
Since acquiring dried elderberries can sometimes be very difficult, especially during cold and flu season, I prefer to either forage or grow my own whenever possible.

(NaturalHealth365) The foods that you eat not only impact your waistline and your physical health, but they also affect the way you think and feel. You’ve probably always heard that you are what you eat – and it’s true, what you put in your body matters.
But, according to a review published in the March 2021 issue of Frontiers of Nutrition, it’s what you feed your brain that really counts.
Your gastrointestinal system plays an integral role in not only your physical health but in your mood and mental health as well. This is because scientists have found that neural tissue doesn’t only exist in our brains. It lines our gut as well.

The story of oil is the story of the modern world. And this is the story of those who helped shape that world, and how the oil-igarchy they created is on the verge of monopolizing life itself.

From farm to fork, factory to freeway, there is no aspect of our modern life that has not been shaped by the oil industry. But as the “post-carbon” era of the 21st century comes into view, there are those who see this as the end of the oiligarchy. They couldn’t be more wrong. This is the remarkable true story of the world that Big Oil is creating, and how they plan to bring it about.
The President of Madagascar, Andry Rajoelina has called on all African Nations to quit the World Health Organization (WHO) because of the bad faith of Europe towards Africa.
The Malagasy president says,
Europe created organizations with the desire for Africans to remain dependent on them. Africa has found a medicine against Coronavirus but Europe thinks they have a monopoly of intelligence as such they are refusing to acknowledge it. It is against this backdrop that I invite all African Nations to quit the international organizations in order for us to build ours.
President of Madagascar, Andry Rajoelina
Rajoelina has put his reputation and credibility on the line touting the medicine as a cure. He said it cures COVID-19 in 10 days.
“No one will stop us from moving forward – not a country, not an organisation,” Rajoelina said in response to the WHO’s concerns.
He said the proof of the tonic’s efficacy was in the “healing” of “our patients”.
He called the medicine a “preventive and curative remedy”.
Rajoelina said Madagascar till date, has reported 212 coronavirus infections and 107 recoveries.
The country has one critical case, but no death.
“The patients who have healed have taken no other product than Covid-Organics,” the president said, adding that his country has a history of traditional medicine.
“What if this remedy had been discovered by a European country, instead of Madagascar?”, Rajoelina queried WHO and other skeptics.
“Would people doubt it so much? I don’t think so,” Rajoelina told FRANCE 24 and RFI .

Research confirms the power of a simple dietary change in improving memory problems in middle-aged and older adults.
In a study titled, “Pomegranate juice augments memory and FMRI activity in middle-aged and older adults with mild memory complaints,” thirty-two subjects with self-reported memory complaints were randomly assigned to drink 8 ounces of either pomegranate juice or a flavor-matched placebo drink for 4 weeks, receiving memory testing, functional MRI scans (fMRI), and blood draws for peripheral biomarkers before and after the intervention.
After 4 weeks, only the pomegranate group showed significant improvement in verbal memory scores and plasma antioxidant levels. Furthermore, compared to placebo, the pomegranate group showed increased fMRI activity during verbal and memory tasks, indicating pomegranate juice consumption results in increased blood flow to critical task-related brain regions.
This is not the first study to identify a brain-beneficial effect to pomegranate juice, as a sizable body of animal research already exists demonstrating it has neuroprotective properties against aluminum-, stroke-, and glucose deprivation-associated neurotoxicity, and may also inhibit the formation of pathological plaques and the over-excitation of microglial cells associated with Alzheimer’s disease.
Pomegranate, in fact, is capable of unclogging and tonifying the cardiovascular system, which is especially important when it comes to brain health, and so-called vascular dementia. In fact, in a previous article titled, “How To Clean Your Arteries with One Simple Fruit,” I report on the ability of pomegranate juice to regress blockages within the carotid arteries of patients.
There is also its well-known age-defying ability to prevent adverse changes associated with the exhaustion of ovarian function. In a previous article, “Amazing Fact: Pomegranate Can Function as a Back-up Ovary,” we looked at animal research explaining how this legendary food, traditionally linked with regeneration and immortality, may provide an alternative to bioidenticial and synthetic hormone replacement therapies.
As the research community continues to explore the potential role of so-called ‘medicinal foods’ in improving quality of life and preventing and/or treating diseases that are largely refractory to conventional drug-based interventions, we can rest assured that pomegranate will continue to play a central role in the rediscovery of food as medicine.
While much of the research is preliminary, an increasingly robust body of human clinical research indicates that pomegranate has a wide range of potential health benefits, including:

Since biblical times, dates were to believed to possess profound healing properties, but only now is science catching up to confirm our distant ancestors knew exactly what they were talking about.
If you go by the Nutrition Facts panel of an ordinary package of dates, they look more like sugar bombs than a healthy snack. Check this one out:
But are they really as nutritionally vapid as these label claims make them seem?
Not by a long shot.
When we apply the complementary lenses of modern scientific investigation and ancient wisdom, dates begin to look like both a holy- and a super-food of immense value.
Here’s a neat example.
In the Koran, the central holy book of Islam, Allah instructs the Virgin Mary to consume dates when she gives birth to Jesus. And so, not surprisingly, dates are commonly referred to within the Islamic tradition as beneficial to pregnant women. We might chalk this up as “pre-scientific” magical thinking without basis in medical fact, were it not for a remarkable human clinical study that confirmed their value in pregnancy…
Published in the Journal of Obstetrics and Gynecology in 2011 and titled, “The effect of late pregnancy consumption of date fruit on labour and delivery“, researchers set out to investigate the effect of date fruit consumption on labor parameters and birth outcomes. Over the course of 11 months at Jordan University of Science and Technology, two groups of women were enrolled in a prospective study where 69 women consumed six date fruits per day for 4 weeks prior to their estimated date of delivery, versus 45 women who consumed none. These women were matched so there was no significant difference in gestational age, age and parity (the number of times a woman has brought a pregnancy to viable gestational age) between the two groups.

RANGITIKEI ENVIRONMENTAL HEALTH WATCH
We recently featured a video with an ex Pharmaceutical executive blowing the whistle on the corruption within the ranks of the pharmaceutical industry. Told never to discuss side effects, he said the industry was now turning their attention to children. They literally create a market because sold out medical professionals will write reports suggesting what is the current problem and then come up with the drug to fix it. Stay informed and definitely check the side effects by requesting the info or by checking online. Better still, find an holistic medical practitioner who will focus on your health and well being rather than treat symptoms. Here is more confirmation from Dr Mercola about the corruption that exists within the medical and pharmaceutical industry.

If your doctor receives money or gifts from a drug company, be it payment for a lecture or a free meal, does it influence the medications he or she in turn prescribes? This represents the burning question in an industry saturated with pharmaceutical company involvement.
A ProPublica analysis revealed nearly nine in 10 cardiologists, and seven in 10 internists and family practitioners, included in their study received payments from drug or device companies in 2014. But the analysis didn’t stop there.
It also looked into whether or not such payments were associated with prescribing practices, and here’s where things got interesting.
ProPublica analyzed the prescribing habits of doctors who wrote at least 1,000 prescriptions in the Medicare Part D drug program. The doctors belonged to five common specialties: psychiatry, cardiovascular disease, family medicine, internal medicine and ophthalmology.
Jonathan Eisen editor of Uncensored Magazine and Vinny Eastwood Host of The Vinny Eastwood Show break down the reasons why Cannabis should be used as a medicine and the death that is being caused by keeping it illegal while drug companies profit from killing people with medical treatments that are not only expensive, but don’t work!

Thanks to thecontrail.com for this link:
Heart disease is the first cause of death, according to this article from Paul A Phillips at sott.net. Cancer is the second cause, no surprises there. However the third cause is, believe it or not, medical error! In the U.S. 210,000 people die per year from medical mistakes.
As I regularly point out here, our medical industry if you like, has lost its desire to promote health by prevention as there is more money to be made from chemical, pharmaceutical ‘cures’ … that ultimately treat symptoms not causes. This decline of affairs began back in the early nineteenth century when the Rockefeller fraternity if you like, realized there was big money to be made from pharmaceuticals … and set about destroying natural cures. The powers that be are still in the business of suppressing the same, including dispensing with natural, holistic practitioners.
This is all a huge degeneration from the once practiced Hippocratic oath (see pdf pp 153-155) of Medical Doctors (“…I will prevent disease whenever I can, for prevention is preferable to cure…” a part quote, note) . It is an era when we need more and more to be proactive about our own health. Gone are the days when the family GP was perceived as being up there with God himself. Read, research and protect yourself from medical misadventure. Read the article and particularly watch the video by Dr Mercola who will provide you with all the statistics to prove the veracity of these claims (note the video is also within the article).
In the USA alone it has been estimated that at least 210,000 patients died from medical mistakes in a year making this the third leading cause of death while heart disease is the first and cancer comes second.
Can the above figure be used to expose the corruption in medicine?
The reason why it has taken so long to realise that something is not right and why so many still don’t see that anything is going on can be explained like this:
On the whole, people: healthcare workers or patients or the public at large, can regard many circumstances in medicine as isolated cause and effect relationships. In other words, people generally fail to make the connections between the different cause and effect relationships.
With the high rate of disappearance/death by suspicious circumstances/murder/suicide of Holistic Medical Practitioners these days, it’s pertinent surely to be asking questions? And it’s not hard to find answers … a brief research of the history of medicine reveals some very telling information. As always, follow the money trail. People now are becoming more proactive about their health and seeking out Doctors who will encourage the facilitation of prevention of disease rather than the endless treatment of the symptoms with chemical/synthetic pills. Our bodies were equipped at birth with immune systems which were designed to prevent disease and to heal the body. Previous posts here clearly indicate that at least one in three, higher in some places, are dying of cancer. Were modern medicine so effective then why is the ever elusive cure taking so long to find? In fact, the cures are already there, and suppressed. Folks are waking up to this crime of the century. Read here this article by NaturalNews on the reasons the medical fraternity are not happy with this. EnvirowatchRangitikei
“How the Flexner Report destroyed homeopathy in the United States
Simply put, oil tycoon J.D. Rockefeller was determined to control the pharmaceutical industry and ‘modern’ medicine – but, first, he had to get rid of the competition such as, naturopathy, homeopathy, herbalists or any other physician associated with holistic medicine. To do this: Rockefeller funded Andrew Flexner to create the “Flexner Report” – by 1910″
(NaturalNews) “Why does Western medicine hate homeopathy? Since the 1800s, conventionally-trained medical doctors have been taught that homeopathy is quackery, even ‘devilish.’ Mind you, these are the same people that thought bloodletting, leeches, mercury and lead were good to “treat” disease conditions…”
“According to an oncology journal, the overall five-year cure rate of medical doctors (i.e. oncologists), on newly diagnosed cancer patients, is 3% (Clinical Oncology (2004) 16: 549-560).
Let me say this another way: in five years after diagnosis, 97% of the cancer patients of the medical community are dead.
You probably think that this “cure rate” is excellent because cancer is such a mysterious disease and it is so hard to cure. You have been told that DNA damage is what causes cancer and that it will be 50 years before a cure for cancer will be found.
The truth is that the 3% cure rate is inexcusable. If you can safely target and kill cancer cells, what difference does it make that cancer cells have DNA damage!! Killing sick cells should be easy, even if they have DNA damage.
Is there proof that someone has had a cure rate higher than 3%?
Dr. William D. Kelley, a cancer researcher, worked with more than 33,000 cancer patients and his five-year cure rate on newly diagnosed cancer patients was about 90%, not 3%.”

Up until the 1950s folks grew their own food as a matter of course. It was what you did. Supermarkets kind of changed that but folks are catching on to the fact that processed foods are frequently devoid of nutrients and our fresh produce is sprayed liberally with toxic chemicals bringing with them a myriad of health risks. The financial squeeze is also a motivating factor and people are getting their fingers in the soil and producing their own food for cheap.
Here are some examples of that in the North Island, one is in the far North, and another in Hawkes Bay, both beautiful warm regions for growing things. A third I noticed recently on Facebook in Palmerston North, closer to home, illustrating the wonderful value of communities getting together and growing food… and sharing. That’s how our forbears used to do it.
SARAH HARRIS (stuff.co.nz)
The North Hokianga Co-op aims to get residents growing their own produce and wants to build a boutique abattoir to process local meat.
Co-op organiser Jackie Thompson says the area wants to make the most of their natural resources and change attitudes towards food and where it comes from.
The Co-op held a “Kai Rangatira” day on October 10 to introduce the community to gardening methods and information. More than100 people turned out to learn about grafting, worm farms, traditional Maori medicine, honey and housing projects.
“Food comes from the supermarket, from over the counter in a package. We’re eating too much sugar and too much processed food. That is basically seen as normal….”
“This is a short clip of Auntys Garden in Hastings. An amazing place to get fresh vegetables. Price = koha ..”
Posted on Facebook comments explain that the garden is at “Waipatu Marae just before Whakatu in Hastings. It is a community garden that any one can get produce from. Payment is in form of a koha. Anyone is also welcome to go and help in the garden..”
Finally the Crewe Community Garden in Palmerston North have as their vision: “… to create a vibrant community hub where neighbours are collectively involved in various sustainable living initiatives that provide healthy food, encourage social connections, and reduce family food budgets. A community garden achieves many of the goals that the group have.”
Reading this article from preventdisease.com, a heart surgeon with 25 years experience – has to cause you surely to ask the question – ‘what is wrong here?’ As the saying goes, something is not right in the state of Denmark. Pays to research and ask questions. We have a similar scenario going on with cancer treatment. We have professionals who also know something is wrong, who many times stand to lose their certification for going against the flow. The fact is, the medical profession changed its focus from natural healing to pharmaceuticals back in the 1920s and 30s courtesy of the Rockefeller fraternity. As a consequence instead of treating the root cause of our illnesses, we are treating the symptoms … with a pill … at great profit to the pharmaceutical industry. If you don’t believe this watch thetruthaboutcancer website’s documentaries where all of this is confirmed in interviews by medical professionals. Be wise people and read … read the facts, seek out the answers.
Here is the article:
“We physicians with all our training, knowledge and authority often acquire a rather large ego that tends to make it difficult to admit we are wrong. So, here it is. I freely admit to being wrong.. As a heart surgeon with 25 years experience, having performed over 5,000 open-heart surgeries, today is my day to right the wrong with medical and scientific fact … The only accepted therapy was prescribing medications to lower cholesterol and a diet that severely restricted fat intake. The latter of course we insisted would lower cholesterol and heart disease. Deviations from these recommendations were considered heresy and could quite possibly result in malpractice…The long-established dietary recommendations have created epidemics of obesity and diabetes, the consequences of which dwarf any historical plague in terms of mortality, human suffering and dire economic consequences…
The cholesterol theory led to the no-fat, low-fat recommendations that in turn created the very foods now causing an epidemic of inflammation. Mainstream medicine made a terrible mistake when it advised people to avoid saturated fat in favor of foods high in omega-6 fats. We now have an epidemic of arterial inflammation leading to heart disease and other silent killers….
Despite the fact that 25% of the population takes expensive statin medications and despite the fact we have reduced the fat content of our diets, more Americans will die this year of heart disease than ever before …”
