How to get the NZ government to accept that 20 people out of 1,500 is a majority? Ask Kapiti Coast DC

More miracles from NZ. From Wakanae Watch, NZ. “Fact versus fiction: open letter to KCDC councillors”.

“Give us folks the evidence of how the KCDC mayor and Council were able to get the NZ government to accept that 20 people out of 1,500 as being the majority. And to get $2.3 million. And having the majority councillors supporting this bullshit. Gee, this is brilliant, NZ a great little democracy knows how to sell the story and get everyone to believe it!”

“Dear Councillors,

Re: information concerning the Gateway and the “Consultation

The Mayor, in various newspaper columns and Councillor Buswell in press releases have told everyone in Kapiti that there was resounding public support for the Gateway. The evidence they have relied on is the Maclean Park Management Plan Refresh in 2017 (“MPMP”).

The KCDC website repeats the same story.

Improving the Kāpiti Island departure point and providing an iconic visitor experience has been a discussion point for our community for many years. It was consulted on during the 2017 Maclean Park Te Ūruhi Development Plan and funding for a Gateway is signalled in the Council’s 2018–38 Long term plan, and set aside in both 2019/20 and 2020/21 Annual Plans.web site

The KCDC Application to the PGF states:

Extensive public consultation has been undertaken on the proposal to build a Kāpiti Gateway. This has taken place in four phases:

Wellington mayor uses lawyers in attempt to hush councillors, then the media

If you hadn’t already noticed, councilors are frequently silenced about all sorts. It’s what I’ve noticed anyway. That and their ‘public excluded’ meetings. All secret squirrel & not good enough considering who is paying them. The LG system needs reformatting. EWR

From stuff

Wellington Mayor Andy Foster has called in the lawyers in what is being seen as an attempt to hush councillors talking about the city’s library.

Then, when Wellington City Council got word councillors were indeed talking, it doubled-down, with a warning from law firm Simpson Grierson sent to Stuff on Sunday night.

On Friday afternoon, Foster sent all councillors an email with advice he had sought from Simpson Grierson after some elected officials gave their opinions around strengthening the quake-prone Wellington central library.

The Byron Shire council has called the first moratorium in Australia on a proposed 5G tower upgrade

Unfortunately this video has been removed … as soon as I am able to find one I will post further info on this. I’ve left the description to the video below here. It is real news, I’ve seen it on FB, identical info. EWR

The Byron Shire council has called the first moratorium in Australia on a proposed 5G tower upgrade. The incredible opposition to 5G clearly let the Council know that the community #donotconsent to an increase in Radiofrequency Electromagnetic Radiation #emr by an experimental technology with no long-term safety testing. Congratulations to the Byron Bay Shire for becoming the first place in Australia to call a moratorium on a proposed 5G tower upgrade. Great leadership from the local councillors and a unanimous vote to halt the roll-out.

A county in Ireland suspends 5G due to health concerns & non coverage by insurance

Laois County, Ireland Suspends 5G Due to Health Concerns & Non-Coverage by Insurance

From smombiegate.org

Public concerns around potential health hazards of 5G technology have led to calls for its rollout to be suspended until these matters can be independently investigated and resolved.

Leading the charge for 5G to be put on hold until such time as public anxieties around its health and safety can be allayed is Cllr Aisling Moran.

She called on the Minister for Communications, Richard Bruton to stop the rollout of 5G, fifth generation cellular technology, across the country.

“We as a Council and public representatives have a moral and ethical responsibility to protect the health and wellbeing or all our citizens.

“There is a reason why insurance companies will not insure 5G, this needs to be investigated further by an independent company with no prospect of financial gain,” she maintained.

The motion was seconded and supported by Cllr Caroline Dwane-Stanley.

More revelations on NZ’s corporate LG model that’s controlling the democracy of your local councils … from the stonewalled outgoing Mayor of Horowhenua

After a very unfriendly ‘farewell’ if you could call it that, Horowhenua’s former Mayor, Michael Feyen, speaks out about what is really happening inside your local councils.

RELATED:
THE MAYOR WHO HAS HAD TO RUN HIS OWN MEDIA CAMPAIGN SHARES SOME INSIGHTS INTO THE CURRENT STATE OF LG IN NZ

Stonewalled from the outset, this Mayor, also a former councilor who blew the whistle on among other things pollution, and (now coming out for example, & curiously right after elections the issue of the cracks in the new HDC building that HDC declined to have examined at no cost). Add to that monitored & intercepted emails, a secret $1mill  payout to one of the local Iwi, and exclusion from the pensioner housing sale planning committee.  As many of us are aware democracy is fading into oblivion in NZ & we have the mere illusion only of the former status quo. This is a must listen on the machinations of both LGNZ (& govt?) from an insider. There will be more to come. See our LG Watch pages & search HDC in ‘categories’ for Horowhenua articles. EWR

All United Kingdom and Common Wealth residents can use this FOI request form as a template to send to Central Government, 4th Sector Organisations, Public entities, Local, District and Country Councils, Police and all Emergency Services to understand their 5G, GSM, WIFI and Smart Device plans, strategies and implementations, such as LED streetlight systems that we now know are being used as the method of deploying 5G in a town near you, totally under the radar, in practical secret and without so far as we can see, ANY UNDERSTANDING OF SAFETY REGULATIONS FOR THIS 5G TECHNOLOGY. This FOI will give you and our community a National insight into how well resourced your Council is; who they are giving your money to; and how much you are being left in the dark by these unscrupulous companies/suppliers.

Please make sure you change [COUNCIL] for your own Council or entity. If you’re using a Word-type package you can Edit > Find > Replace > Type in [Council] and replace with e.g.: Gateshead Council > click OK > You will see the change is done automatically.

Also, you do not have to use this template in full, you can take out sections, as you may only want to know about LED streetlights or 5G. Please note, some councils may require longer to find all the information, so be patient with them if you are asked to give them an extension. You can usually find the email to send this to in the bottom of websites.

Christchurch 2030 Agenda End-game: Global Settlement

By Martin Harris
uncensored.co.nz

We’ve been reporting the agenda for years, and now it’s formalized. Post-quake Christchurch belongs to the UN New World Order. How so?

Immediately after the 2011 quake that devastated the CBD and large portions of the Eastern suburbs, the government stepped in and purchased the “Red Zone” land. As for the rest, the government and local council nutted out responsibilities and ownerships. Taxes were raised, rates were raised, and insurance payouts dished out (and private insurance raised).

Now, the land and assets purchased and owned by The Crown has now been essentially handed to local council.

What does this actually mean?

Council releases details of draft Global Settlement

On the surface, it would appear that land and assets have gone from government ownership into the hands of “We The People”, the ratepayers of Christchurch. Wonderful, you think? Dominic Harris (no relation) thinks so:

Deal for Christchurch’s quake-damaged red zone returns power to the people

Ownership of the vast swathe of land where almost 7000 houses once stood will be transferred to the city council over the next two years.
Ownership of the vast swathe of land where almost 7000 houses once stood will be transferred to the city council over the next two years.

Handing authority over the residential red zone to the residents of Christchurch is a welcome return of power to the people, campaigners believe.

Ownership of the vast swathe of land where almost 7000 houses once stood will be transferred to the city council over the next two years as part of the final post-quake settlement between the authority and the Crown.

Whanganui District Councillors told of desperation for housing in submissions

Remember the Whanganui woman living in a tent? NZ has a housing crisis. Some 22% of the state housing stock I heard today (a public owned asset) sold by the National Govt … they largely sold these to developers. I hear of folk who were evicted or pressured out of their STATE homes, who are still homeless. There are more than 43K people homeless now, living in cars, garages, you name it. We all I’m sure want to help refugees but on that topic aside there appears to be more to the agenda than meets the eye. Shades of Denmark and all of that. Perhaps all of the millions pocketed by the currently well favored developers could be diverted to building more houses for both our homeless and the refugees? (And pigs might fly). Can you see the incongruity in it all? The sustainable crew who are all for equal rights if you read their plan, when it comes down to it they’d prefer you shared your garage or tent with the newcomers, not them. As we speak they swan around the planet in their private jets (attending climate conferences!!) whilst instructing us to curb our carbon footprint. (Let us know if you hear of empty state homes, bulldozed state homes, state home evictions or similar). EWR

Whanganui District Councillors told of desperation for housing in submissions

NZ Herald
Whanganui’s “desperate” housing shortage has been laid bare before councillors by those on the frontline.

A hearing on the Whanganui District Council’s draft Housing Strategy was held this week with 12 of the 38 submitters presenting to councillors.

Focus on housing squeeze, not refugees – Whanganui mayor

RadioNZ

A Whanganui migrant advocate has criticised an iwi leader for saying the city should house Māori before it takes on refugees – but others say he has a point about the city’s housing crisis.
Whanganui mayor Hamish McDouall said the city’s housing crisis needed to be addressed and refugees were not the cause.

Whanganui was chosen as a refugee resettlement destination in February. About 30 refugees – or three to five families – are due to to arrive from April next year. Up to 110 refugees are expected every year thereafter.

Whanganui Tupoho iwi leader Ken Mair disrupted an Immigration New Zealand meeting in the city earlier this week.

Rolleston people, are you aware of the risks of toxic dust dispersal from your local 1080 poison factory?

IMPORTANT UPDATE: Since posting this a worker at this factory has been poisoned, is hospitalized & is in a coma. We did not hear about this in the media until two weeks after the event. You can read about that incident at the links below:

AN OIA RESPONSE FROM ENVIRONMENT CANTERBURY RC RAISES SERIOUS DOUBTS ABOUT THE SAFETY OF 1080 FACTORY PEST CONTROL RESEARCH LTD

A WORKER IS SAID TO BE IN A HOPEFUL CONDITION IN HOSPITAL, AFTER A WORKPLACE INCIDENT INVOLVING CHEMICALS IN CHRISTCHURCH

NOTE; for the second time now I see these videos are ‘unavailable’ or ‘cannot be played’. A regular occurrence these days. If you find they cannot be played please give me a heads up in comments below the article. Also, try refreshing the page, that sometimes works. Or wait & try again, as has happened to me. It is unavailable then after a few tries it functions properly.

NOTE: Watch this post as I will add updates as they become available

Alan Gurden has filmed this factory in Rolleston in the South Island that manufactures 1080 baits. These are a Class 1A Ecotoxin with no known antidote. Air vents in the roof it’s been noted by neighbouring workers, emit dust into the atmosphere. These staff when interviewed were shocked and had no idea what was being manufactured in such close proximity to them. The question asked is how were the consents granted without neighbouring businesses knowing about it?

More info below from Alan Gurden at a local protest near the factory. Do those people really look like the terrorists NZ lamestream media would have you believe they are? This is just a ploy to get you to look away people, while they poison your country with impunity. There have been deaths & there will likely be more if they don’t stop the blasé attitude they are promoting towards poisons. They are teaching your children in schools that it is ‘not very dangerous to humans’ and an Epro contractor was recently quoted in the media as recommending a 1080 pellet was safe to eat.

Jim Hilton has advised “that the Selwyn District Council (SDC) were the consenting authority for this factory. They colluded in secret with the West Coast Regional Council (WCRC).  This is a $1.2 M investment in a POISON BAIT factory (manufacturing plant) 92% of West Coasters don’t want. It is the Council’s biggest cash cow. The voting public have a asked a lot of questions (OIA’s) about the reasons this “investment” was kept secret. Surprise surprise …. they are not being answering quickly!

Ratepayers do not give permission to Councils to secretly invest in products which Councils then use to poison their ratepayers, their food and drinking water.”

As Alan suggests, get in touch with your local Council and ask some pertinent questions. You should familiarize yourself with safety precautions in the event of a fire & in the event of dust blowing out of the air vents.

For more info on the manufacturers of 1080 around NZ go here.
For articles relating to the regulations around 1080 storage hazards go here.
Know also that 1080 manufacture is big business.
(Note the Pest Control Research sign has been removed from the building).

If you are new to NZ’s 1080 poisoning program here is a good article to start with …

WHY ARE PEOPLE SO CONCERNED ABOUT 1080? A must watch also is Poisoning Paradise, the doco made by the GrafBoys (banned from screening on NZ TV, yet a 4x international award winner). Their website is tv-wild.com. Their doco is a very comprehensive overview with the independent science to illustrate the question marks that remain over the use of this poison.

See also http://1080science.co.nz, and do visit our Suspected 1080 Poisoning page.
1080 POISON IS EXTREMELY DIFFICULT TO TEST FOR TO PROVE A CAUSE OF DEATH.
And “IF YOU DIE FROM 1080 POISONING NOBODY WILL KNOW” … BULLIED DOCTORS ARE NOT DOING THE TESTS SAYS RETIRED DR CHARLIE BAYCROFT.

The very Govt organization that issues consents for 1080 drops is to conduct the ‘independent’ review of DoC’s recent aerial operation that killed 8 cows

“Waikato Regional Council will undertake the independent review. NZ Herald.

Related: https://envirowatchrangitikei.wordpress.com/2018/09/29/with-an-estimated-158-stock-deaths-pa-in-nz-docs-proposed-independent-review-of-the-waikato-1080-drop-that-killed-8-cows-is-rare-indeed/

This is all very in-house isn’t it? Not unlike how the Police investigate themselves. Or how Monsanto long ago in the 1970s tested Roundup themselves for safety. Also a bit like asking the second hand car dealer to check over the car you are looking to purchase.

Dr Meriel Watts appealed to Environment Waikato (now Waikato Regional Council, WRC) in 2010 to desist from the use of 1080 as they considered the issuing of up to 20 year consents for aerial dispersal of the said product:

“Re: EPRO and EcoFX Resource Consent Applications

Dear Mr Laing,

I am writing to you on behalf of Pesticide Action Network Aotearoa New Zealand to express our profound opposition to Environment Waikato’s anachronistic proposal to allow 10- or 20-year resource consents to EPROand EcoFX to aerially disperse 1080 in the region.

As you are no doubt aware, 1080 is classed by the World Health Organisation as an Extremely Hazardous pesticide (Class 1a WHO). You may not be aware that as such it falls within the category of Highly Hazardous Pesticides for which the Food and Agriculture Organisation of the United Nations (FAO) is seeking a global phase out.

That Environment Waikato is contemplating 10 or 20 year consents to use, let alone aerially disperse, 1080, when a UN agency is promoting a global phase out of all such pesticides is extraordinary. I can only assume that you officers are not aware of the situation.

To issue consents of 10 or more years duration also flies in the face of ERMA’s concern about such on-going widespread dispersal of 1080 in the environment, and their support for more research into alternatives. There will be no room for introduction of alternatives in the EW region if these consents are granted.”

1080 is a broad-spectrum poison: it kills all oxygen-breathing animals and organisms. This alone is reason enough to cease dispersing it into the environment. It indiscriminately kills and contaminates everything from the insects that underpin the native fauna food chain to precious native birds, dogs and farm animals. There are so many recorded instances that there is no need to elaborate on them here. Nor the fact that the suffering of these animals on the way to death is extremely inhumane.

That New Zealand has such a history of poisoning its indigenous species, livestock and companion animals is a shame we have to live with. But we do not need to perpetuate it. Thankfully the era of poisoning everything we don’t like is passing, and intelligent new, targeted approaches to pest management are taking its place.

It is time now for Environment Waikato to move forward with the rest of the world, and introduce alternatives. Trapping has been shown to be an effective method of controlling possums, at the same time utilising a valuable resource for the benefit of the national economy, and trapping technology is continually improving. On the other hand, years of experience of 1080 dispersal has shown that this approach is not sustainable, it has to be repeated at regular intervals, each time with its negative consequences for the environment.

Pesticide Action Network therefore urges you to reject the idea of extended resource consents for aerial dispersal of 1080, and to instead focus your resources on rapid introduction of sustainable, environmentally friendly, and socially supportive alternatives such as trapping.

Yours sincerely,

Meriel Watts, PhD,

Pesticide Action Network

When a PHD & author of 2 well known books* on the effects of poisons on human beings & environments, takes the time to warn those who are mandating widespread poisoning of the environment of the dangers therein, you would think that that authority would heed the warning. But no, not only have they continued dropping 1080, it increases yearly. And the rules have even been changed so that 1080 can be delivered straight into waterways without a consent from council!

Indeed since that time the Government itself has been busy making the product for the country (NZ) that was already using 80% or thereabouts of the world’s supply. Cleverly re branding it to make its image slightly more palatable to the non questioning public.

2openlab

We are expected to now believe that an investigation into this recent incident involving the death of 8 cows (including aborted calves) by the very organization that is not only a branch of the same tree and pro 1080, will be independent?

They are all under the same Government umbrella!  DoC, Regional Council, Orillion. May as well save themselves the time, money & effort because we can fairly safely bet on what the outcome will be.

(Stuff) That will be the company we recently noted was formed ONE WEEK before the sale, fronting (?) for Willis & Bond, large property developers who surely wouldn’t need a bargain & will likely be laughing all the way to the bank right now. Stuff doesn’t say too much about the front company. This was a fire sale price indeed. Mayor Feyen was right about that. Still think they shouldn’t be opening the books at HDC?

I’ve heard estimates that the housing was actually worth around $25 million. There were 115 houses/units which equates to around a measly $47K per unit according to my rough calculations. Quite a bargain isn’t it?

So, councils have economic development committees (Cr Campbell was slammed last year for criticizing Horowhenua’s EDC ) … presumably they would have been involved in the sale, or at least consulted, managing the economic development of Horowhenua as they do & surely having their fingers on the pulse of property values? If it was them, then IMO they need to be sacked. All of them. Eight prominent businessmen, we were proudly told the day Cr Campbell was ousted as DM. Where are their skills, or the skills of whomever did sell them? (and of course we may never know since it was all behind closed doors). Not only that, we were promised they would sell to a community housing provider not a property developer. As we know they’ve gotten around that by signing the Sisters of Compassion up via their new company (‘Compassion Horowhenua’) to add the promised wrap-around service that’s yet to be defined (and surely, where are their ethics?) & I’m not holding my breath on that one. I suspect the Horowhenua Ratepayers Assn’s concerns about land banking could likely be correct.  In Tamaki (article soon to come on that), land banking has been occurring with many state homes sitting empty since 2012 … and we have 41K homeless in our country. Our government/corporation has NO SHAME. And as for this debacle. ‘Compassion Horowhenua’? They think we all came down in the last shower. And if this is true, they will get away with it because they can.

By the way, the article says they consulted vigorously. They consulted vigorously with the tenants over a free dinner, hardly ethical. And pensioners who opposed the idea were smartly shut down. At least that is what two pensioners have told me. (For further info from whistle blowers on HDC’s questionable goings on see our Horowhenua page under Local Govt Watch at the main menu).

Council-owned pensioner housing sells for $5.5 million

The controversial sale of council-owned pensioner housing in Horowhenua includes measures to protect tenants, but not enough to satisfy opponents of the move.

Grey Power Horowhenua is worried the 115 pensioner units in Levin, Foxton and Shannon could soon be offered to other social housing users, instead of just pensioners, when ownership changes hands.

The sale has attracted widespread opposition because much of the wheeling and dealing has taken place behind closed council doors, although the Horowhenua District Council says it consulted rigorously.

Information leaked to Stuff reveals the council is selling the pensioner units to a new company called Compassion Horowhenua for $5.5 million – a price some sources have labelled a bargain.

The sale will be settled by September 30.

“I Don’t Like Your Question & I’m Never Speaking to You Again!” Mayor’s Reply to the Horowhenua District Councilor Who Questioned the $106+ million Debt

This is very bizarre. If a District Councilor asks about Council debt the logical response would surely be a discussion with questions answered would it not? Instead this Mayor launches into an ugly personal attack promising the Cr he’ll never be spoken to again. Times have surely changed. We’ve gone from responsible spending and balancing the books, to insane debt and no accountability. Cr Campbell was clearly looking for accountability. The man is a gentleman and not given to rude comments or aggressive behavior so the response he got was certainly uncalled for. Hear for yourself the vagaries of HDC.

NZ’s Horowhenua District Cncl is in debt to the tune of $106 million and climbing says one of their Councilors, Ross Campbell. In the video he asks about the debt and the Mayor responds with: “I don’t like your question and I’m never speaking to you again!”. Very bizarre happenings in this Council, all indicative of UN Agenda 21, 2030 practices. See the following links for further info on the Horowhenua District Council and Agenda 21/2030:

HDC Councilors are Told How to Vote – a Councillor Speaks Out

In Spite of Their Spin the HDC is not Enabling  Democratic Local Decision Making – They’ve Just Issued a  Liquor License Locals Didn’t Want

In spite of their spin the Horowhenua District Council is not enabling “democratic local decision making”… they’ve just issued a liquor license that Shannon locals didn’t want!

Cr Ross Campbell conducted a street poll regarding a proposed liquor license … the results were not in favour of the license however the DC went ahead and issued one anyway! How’s that for listening to your people?

For those who don’t know Shannon, it is a small town on State Highway 57 between Palmerston North and Levin in the lower North Island. Recently it featured in the news media following the filming by Horowhenua District Councillor Ross Campbell, of HDC’s pollution of the local waterways. You can read about these events that saw Cr Campbell trespassed, at this link.

More recently, Cr Campbell conducted a street poll to air the proposal by Council of issuing another liquor license in the town.  Shannon already has two off license outlets and five licensed outlets, and the public voted an overwhelming 309 to 3 against. Now that is a clear message from constituents to at the very least hold off, and at most to conduct a proper survey of the town.

But no, the HDC Licensing Chair-person Councilor Ross Brannigan and Committee and obviously the Police thought otherwise and granted yet another license!

Disappointed with this outcome, Cr Campbell, who has fought hard for this community, commented that he thought the Police would have been more supportive of locals’ wishes especially with this issue.

Now, I’ve noticed for some time now, as have many others, that DCs seem to not really be listening to what their constituents say. The official spin if you like on their websites tends to sound very democratic but in practice, in reality, as can be seen from all of the above, they are everything but democratic. A former Cr, Mrs Anne Hunt, recently went public and divulged the persuasive measures that HDC take with their own, coercing them to deny the facts about certain issues. Something is clearly not right with local government in NZ, the HDC being no exception. Here for instance, to illustrate, is some of their spin, quoted from HDC’s own website (our emphases):

Council’s Functions, Responsibilities and Activities

The purpose of the Horowhenua District Council is to enable democratic local decision making to promote the social, economic, environmental and cultural well being of the Horowhenua District in the present and for the future.

In meeting its purpose, the Horowhenua District Council has a variety of roles:

  • Facilitating solutions to local needs
  • Advocacy on behalf of the local community with central government,  other local authorities and other agencies
  • Management of local infrastructure including network infrastructure (eg roading, water supply, waste disposal, libraries, parks and recreational facilities)
  • Environmental management planning for the current and future needs of the local district.

So there is a discrepancy right there in the first paragraph:

…to enable democratic local decision making to promote the social, economic, environmental and cultural well being of the Horowhenua District

In this instance, clearly demonstrated by Cr Campbell, they are not enabling democratic local decision making. Locals commenting on social media clearly reflected that they neither needed nor wanted more liquor outlets so HDC is neither consulting nor listening to locals and … facilitating solutions to local needs. (Their own words).

So who needs more liquor outlets? … no prizes for guessing that one … the liquor companies of course.

So the question that needs to be asked here is …  why is a supposedly responsible DC favoring the wishes of the liquor industry, over the people who voted them in?

Hopefully the locals will be phoning those who made this decision on their behalf .. (in particular Cr Ross Brannigan in case you missed it) to ask them “why”?  Why are they contradicting their own policy statements?

We need to be speaking up about these matters  … our silence is interpreted as consent.

The contact details for all councilors and others who are serving you the rate payers, can be found on the respective Council websites. And remember, elections are coming up soon … be sure to vote, and vote for those who are genuinely for changing the current status quo.

In addition, consider registering your opposition to the way these decisions are made by filling in a form at the Citizens Government Corruption Watchdog Commission. This is easy to do, and the site is a NZ one.

Shannon will be entering the “Keep NZ Beautiful”competition this spring. Good luck to them!

Sunshine Coast Council Follows France’s Lead in Phasing out Weedkiller

Here is good news … another group opting out of Glyphosate use, this time Australia:

“Spraying weeds with synthetic chemicals could be a thing of the past in a few years if the Sunshine Coast Council has its way.

Via Source: http://www.abc.net.au/local/stories/2015/06/22/4259440.htm

It is phasing out the use of controversial pesticide glyphosate – the active ingredient in Round Up – and introducing natural ways to control weeds, even though regulators from the State Government and CSIRO do not require them to.

Parks manager Mark Presswell says council is concerned that research has shown glyphosate is a health hazard and harmful to the environment….”
