Why Silicon Valley billionaires are prepping for the apocalypse in New Zealand

How an extreme libertarian tract predicting the collapse of liberal democracies – written by Jacob Rees-Mogg’s father – inspired the likes of Peter Thiel to buy up property across the Pacific.

If you’re interested in the end of the world, you’re interested in New Zealand. If you’re interested in how our current cultural anxieties – climate catastrophe, decline of transatlantic political orders, resurgent nuclear terror – manifest themselves in apocalyptic visions, you’re interested in the place occupied by this distant archipelago of apparent peace and stability against the roiling unease of the day.

If you’re interested in the end of the world, you would have been interested, soon after Donald Trump’s election as US president, to read a New York Times headline stating that Peter Thiel, the billionaire venture capitalist who co-founded PayPal and was an early investor in Facebook, considered New Zealand to be “the Future”. Because if you are in any serious way concerned about the future, you’re also concerned about Thiel, a canary in capitalism’s coal mine who also happens to have profited lavishly from his stake in the mining concern itself.

Matata existing use rights cull one step closer after Bay of Plenty Regional Council decision – another Agenda 21/30 land grab?

This looks like Agenda 21/30. Land grabs in other places also. Search other articles in ‘categories’. See all of our Agenda pages at the main menu, also see Local Govt Watch pages also at the main menu. Similar happening in the Christchurch rebuild.

Matata landowners have been left in limbo after a proposal to strip existing use rights over safety concerns was accepted by Bay of Plenty Regional Council.

The landmark decision will see 34 houses and sections lose the right to inhabit their property as part of a voluntary retreat. It is believed to be the first time the Resource Management Act has been used in this manner.

Whakatane District Council lobbied Bay of Plenty Regional Council to consider a plan change that will prohibit residential activity in the Awatarariki Fanhead at Matatā after March 2021. The plan change was suggested after $1.2 million was spent investigating how to mitigate safety concerns to residents unsuccessfully.

The plan change will prohibit all residential activity in the affected area.

Anger at forced acquisition of 34 Bay of Plenty properties

Impacted residents say they will fight the plan change through legal means.

“We don’t want this to end up in court but when you back people into a corner they fight,” resident spokesman Rick Whalley said.

“That’s where we are now. We’re backed into the corner and we have to fight. They have taken away everything we have. We can’t sell. We can’t get loans. What other option do we have?”

Local councils slammed for failing to supply information

This has just happened in the Horowhenua with their District Council. Info request denied regarding their Economic Development Board.  Quite a lot going on there at the moment, to read more go to investigative journalist Veronica Harrod’s page. Her articles are frequently on the Horowhenua District Ratepayers and Residents Association Inc page where you can keep up to speed with happenings & ongoing discussions Council wise in the Horowhenua.

From RadioNZ

The chief ombudsman says local democracy is being undermined as councils fail to meet obligations to release public information.

Peter Boshier said councils are not meeting their responsibilities under the Local Government Official Information and Meeting Act and that some councils seem to resent having to be held accountable.

“The performance of many councils is disappointing. Local government is absolutely fundamental to democracy, and in that respect the need for accountability and supply of information is just as strong as it is with central government, and yet many local councils don’t see it that way.

‘Consultation’ & the little known Delphi technique – promoting the illusion of democracy & helping you think you’ve had a say

Here are three items introducing the Delphi Technique, used globally in those meetings where you’re consulted, yet you still feel railroaded and haven’t been heard at all. It’s not your imagination. This is a real eye opener. It’s how their agenda (Agenda 21/30) is carried out without your knowing. Hence all the public-excluded meetings these days when they discuss the real agenda with the chosen few. If you’re not on their page you’ll be excluded. And Councils use this technique it when ‘consulting’ you. On the public stuff, making you think you’ve had input. Do read these articles, they’re not too long. The definition of consultation for LG’s own magazine tells you the decision’s already been made, then your views are sought. Excerpt below… ‘5. Engagement vs Consultation’:

Copy of consult 4.png

First article by Lyn Stuter

The Delphi Technique was originally conceived as a way to obtain the opinion of experts without necessarily bringing them together face to face. In Educating for the New World Order by Bev Eakman, the reader finds reference upon reference for the need to preserve the illusion that there is “Lay, or community, participation in the decisionmaking process), while in fact lay citizens are being squeezed out.”

A specialized use of this technique was developed for teachers, the “Alinsky Method” (ibid., p. 123). The setting or group is, however, immaterial the point is that people in groups tend to share a certain knowledge base and display certain identifiable characteristics (known as group dynamics). This allows for a special application of a basic technique. The “change agent” or “facilitator” goes through the motions of acting as an organizer, getting each person in the target group to elicit expression of their concerns about a program, project, or policy in question. The facilitator listens attentively, forms “task forces,” “urges everyone to make lists,” and so on. While she is doing this, the facilitator learns something about each member of the target group. He/she identifies the “leaders,” the “loud mouths,” as well as those who frequently turn sides during the argument the “weak or noncommittal.”

Suddenly, the amiable facilitator becomes “devil’s advocate.” He/she dons his professional agitator hat. Using the “divide and conquer” technique, he/she manipulates one group opinion against the other. This is accomplished by manipulating those who are out of step to appear “ridiculous, unknowledgeable, inarticulate, or dogmatic.” He/she wants certain members of the group to become angry, thereby forcing tensions to accelerate. The facilitator is well trained in psychological manipulation. S/He is able to predict the reactions of each group member. Individuals in opposition to the policy or program will be shut out of the group.

The method works. It is very effective with parents, teachers, school children, and any community group. The “targets” rarely, if ever, know that they are being manipulated. If they do suspect this is happening, they do not know how to end the process. The desired result is for group polarization, and for the facilitator to become accepted as a member of the group and group process. He/she will then throw the desired idea on the table and ask for opinions during discussion. Very soon his/her associates from the divided group begin to adopt the idea as if it were their own, and pressure the entire group to accept the proposition.

A further article on the Delphi Technique by Abert V Burns

Let’s Stop Being Manipulated

More and more, we are seeing citizens being invited to “participate” in various forms of meetings, councils, or boards to “help determine” public policy in one field or another. They are supposedly being included to get ”input” from the public to help officials make final decisions on taxes, education, community growth or whatever the particular subject matter might be.

Sounds great, doesn’t it? Unfortunately, surface appearances are often deceiving.

You, Mr. or Mrs. Citizen, decide to take part in one of these meetings.

Generally, you will find that there is already someone designated to lead or “facilitate” the meeting. Supposedly, the job of the facilitator is to be a neutral, non-directing helper to see that the meeting flows smoothly.

Actually, he or she is there for exactly the opposite reason: to see that the conclusions reached during the meeting are in accord with a plan already decided upon by those who called the meeting.

The process used to “facilitate” the meeting is called the Delphi Technique. This Delphi Technique was developed by the RAND Corporation for the U.S. Department of Defense back in the 1950s. It was originally intended for use as a psychological weapon during the cold war.

However, it was soon recognized that the steps of Delphi could be very valuable in manipulating ANY meeting toward a predetermined end.

How does the process take place? The techniques are well developed and well defined.

First, the person who will be leading the meeting, the facilitator or Change Agent must be a likable person with whom those participating in the meeting can agree or sympathize.

It is, therefore, the job of the facilitator to find a way to cause a split in the audience, to establish one or a few of the people as “bad guys” while the facilitator is perceived as the “good guy.”

Facilitators are trained to recognize potential opponents and how to make such people appear aggressive, foolish, extremist, etc. Once this is done, the facilitator establishes himself or herself as the “friend” of the rest of the audience.

The stage is now set for the rest of the agenda to take place.

At this point, the audience is generally broken up into “discussion—or ‘breakout’—groups” of seven or eight people each. Each of these groups is to be led by a subordinate facilitator.

Within each group, discussion takes place of issues, already decided upon by the leadership of the meeting. Here, too, the facilitator manipulates the discussion in the desired direction, isolating and demeaning opposing viewpoints.

And finally, a video showing how to derail the Delphi Technique

Published on Oct 29, 2014

On Oct 8, 2014, MTC held a meeting to discuss the Public Participation Plan for the next round of Plan Bay Area 2017. Their agenda was to force people to sit at tables. This is classic Delphi Technique to stifle dissent. When they tried to force people to tables after the general presentation, Mimi Steel, Peter Singleton, and Margaret Gordon forced the issue of having public comments first. MTC reneged under pressure and allowed public comments. The result was a major outcry from most of the participants that the meetings are rigged and that public input, even if presented, is completely ignored because MTC and ABAG already have determined the policies and are just checking the square because “public participation” is required but actual public input that does not support the plan can be ignored.

Labour is fixing the Nat-created housing crisis with Agenda 21/30 emergency units that look not unlike prison cells

The emergency housing ‘cells’ under construction… Photo:

As we know the Nats created a great hole in the State owned housing stock by selling off & land banking properties situated on prime real estate. Now Labour’s set to fix it with ‘affordable’ tiny housing. This is the global trend of course under the UN’s plan for sustainable development. (Sustainably developing developers’ bank accounts, nothing much else is being sustained … note worst pollution of waterways ever, councils are lip service only). With large swathes of the South Island just sold (rather gifted) off shore, governments/corporations have been full on privatising all our state assets with Public Private Partnerships that you all should examine a little more closely. More smoke and mirrors. For a full exposé you need to read Dr Naomi Jacobs’ ebook, a link there to the pdf is on the Agenda 21/30 in NZ page.

Further food for thought is the current new law in Australia that stops you declining vaccination for you or your child (or face 10 years imprisonment) and the stopping of private citizens and asking for papers/ID in the US. This is the beginnings of a totalitarian Police State agenda. That is the fairly plain writing I am seeing on the wall.

Here are the NZ tiny houses from … where are the windows?!

Housing crisis solution described as ‘design and planning monstrosity’

A building expert has slammed the Government’s latest emergency housing solution as a “design and planning monstrosity”.

Engineering consultant Jonathan Smith said the design of the small West Auckland units was unacceptable.

“The units are an eyesore and a design fail.”

The one-bedroom properties have already been criticised for looking like “prison cells”.

Single people would live in the prefabricated dwellings, for an average of three months, under the Government’s transitional housing programme.

Smith said the units were a “design and planning monstrosity”.

The Chinese Version of Agenda 21 and Why The U.S. Should Care

As most aware people already know, England often provides us with a forward-looking view of where our police state surveillance grid will be in three or four years.

The US has a canary in the mine from which to predict its future and it has to do with how China are implementing Agenda 21. China has long led the world in repressive and inhuman enforcement of its one child policies, mandatory sterilization and forced abortions…. read more

And this is not just China. A search online will see the tiny house trend everywhere. We’ve posted here recently on the trend and the steering away from large sections, formerly a Kiwi tradition.

2030 Agenda: UN Plan for World Govt & Total Dictatorship – a break down of the facts

In this week’s Analysis Behind the News video, JBS CEO Art Thompson discusses how many Americans have chased Agenda 21 planning out of their communities, but now the UN is replacing the Agenda 21 terminology with “The 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development”; how the “2030 Agenda” will lead to a UN-dominated world government; how the “2030 Agenda” is grounded on the UN Universal Declaration of Human Rights, which amounts to saying that rights are granted by the UN, not by God as our Declaration of Independence asserts; how the “2030 Agenda” promotes world-wide migration without regard to national boundaries; and how you can obtain a copy of the UN document, “Transforming Our World: The 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development” at…

Porirua state homes sit empty for four years while 42K Kiwis remain homeless

The idiocy of this whole farce is breathtaking to say the least. Whilst ex PM Key (who has now slithered from view) has more than one mansion to live and holiday in, our govt/corp buys mansions for its reps abroad and 33K homes sit empty in Auckland owned by off shore speculators with that latter city now the most expensive to buy in planet wide … we have the same establishment lending thousands of dollars to the homeless for emergency motel accommodation & leaving them deep in debt. And these homes (including others) sit empty. Um, who exactly is controlling the purse strings (the same folk who got us neck deep in debt) and why are they not sacked? (They could have loaned that money to the homeless as a deposit on a home). And soon we’ll doubtless have another equally as incompetent set of riders for the very same corporate horse that’s running the show. This is all a crime of obscene proportions … the homelessness I’m referring to. From a nation that once housed all, to folk living in cars, sheds and garages. Shame, shame New Zeeland. Shame on the Nats, shame on Labour too who helped us all down this road that’s looking frightening indeed for many. The steely, cold reality of the UN’s plan for so called ‘sustainable development’. With all their flowery rhetoric they never had any intention of helping the poor or equalizing wealth. People need to wake up to that. The Nats have been LAND BANKING OUR state homes since 2012. Corruption at its ugliest … somewhat thinly disguised gentrification.  This was only ever about enriching the rich who plan eventually to own everything. Don’t believe me? Read Rosa Koire’s ‘Behind the Green Mask’. You’ll find it on Amazon. Or see her on our Agenda 21/30 pages. And read below about the Porirua houses that have sat empty for four years. Write to Nick Smith and tell him how disgusted you are.

First they were too big and now they’re too small but soon, according to Housing New Zealand, four empty houses in Porirua City will be just right.

The properties have been empty for four years, the last tenants relocated so the houses could be earthquake proofed – something HNZ now says they didn’t need.

Ten months after the agency tried to sell the three-bedroom houses because the demand was for smaller homes. It now has plans to remodel the properties into accommodation for larger families.

Social housing candidate has links to Manus detention centre & human rights breaches (NZ)

Be sure and read the related links down the right hand side of the page in the following article (at the link). They’re denying it’s privatisation. Yeah right! See our recent links on Tamaki, then Horowhenua. They sugar coat the sale with ‘community housing provider’ then sell to private developers. Of course it’s privatisation! It’s also called lying as they did in the Horowhenua. They are taking away our sovereignty by selling off our national assets that our parents and grandparents worked for. No sovereignty, high debt, we’re then beholden to the banks and off shore corporations. See Agenda 21/30 pages for more on that. The UN plan for global governance that is really about world domination people. That is the end game & they want you to swallow it hook, line and sinker.  EnvirowatchRangitikei

This is from RadioNZ

One of the consortiums shortlisted to buy Housing New Zealand homes in Christchurch has links to a company accused of human rights breaches on Manus Island.

The government is seeking proposals from three preferred groups before deciding which one will be chosen to purchase 2500 houses in the city.

They are all made up of existing housing providers and investment firms and would be required to continue operating them as social housing and not sell them to the private sector.

The end game of Agenda 21/30 … there IS a conspiracy & we better wake up to it

This is the best overview of Agenda21/30 and its end game I’ve heard, particularly also because it is very current. David Icke talks about the Glenfell Tower fire in the context of this agenda and explains social cleansing aka gentrification of London city. He also describes human settlement zones, straight from the UN documents. This agenda is not the friendly benign proposal for the future that they make out. Look around you and observe, all you who are distracted by the superficial … the world, instead of looking friendly & benign is looking more and more ominous and ugly by the day. How can a mentality that plans to clear away the poor to make way for the rich, that has allowed a catastrophe like the Grenfell Tower fire to incinerate hundreds of people,  be anything but?  EnvirowatchRangitikei

The property developers who bought the Horowhenua community housing are getting “the deal of the century”

Horowhenua’s pensioner housing sold (Photo Credit: Horowhenua DC)

As we’ve learned since this article below was published by Stuff, the HDC has not exactly highlighted that this deal that is long term and promises wrap around services actually expires in 12 years. This was pointed out by Rob McCann, Labour candidate for Otaki. Add the implications of that to the real deal they are getting and one could be forgiven for thinking they might be land banking, just like the Tamaki Regeneration (aka gentrification) company have. Especially when little mention’s been made to the public on the extra piece of land that goes with the housing (for later provision of possibly even more community housing we’re told). I’ve added comments below from FB’s At the Nua regarding the true bargain the buyers have – plus a copy of the details sent to current tenants of the housing. If all of this is true, Compassion Horowhenua, the company formed one week prior to the sale, will quite likely be laughing all the way to the bank. Well they likely will be in twelve years at any rate. I believe the Horowhenua public may have been thoroughly shafted….

Horowhenua Council confirms contentious pensioner housing sale largely a done deal

The sale of Horowhenua’s council-owned pensioner housing may be all but a done deal, but it remains a bitter bone of contention in the district.

At a media briefing on Wednesday, the Horowhenua District Council officially announced the sale of its 115 pensioner housing units was expected to be finalised within the next five weeks.

“At the Nua” on FB comments:

” “But the council would not confirm the controversial $5.5 million price tag – well below the property portfolio’s rateable value of $7.19 million. It did, however, concede the sale price was less than that.”

Amongst many favourable aspects to the new owner in this deal…

Actually the sale price is $5.25m – the council are gifting $250k to the new owners for maintenance work on the units! Worse still the rateable value is actually over $9m ($7.19m is the “book value” after the units have been depreciated!). Then there’s a concession clearly given on the fact that someone estimates “a projected $4.3m cost to replace 50-60 per cent of the units in the next 25 years”… next 25 years… you’re kidding right? The transfer of the housing loan ($5.2m) means the new owners get the money free until 2029 – a free $5.2m loan for the next 12 years…”

Here is a link to the details given to tenants of the housing:

Horowhenua cty housing sale

Put it all into context & it’s part of the current trend. World wide, government/corporations are selling off our precious public assets to private corporations. It’s part of the UN plan for global governance under Agenda 21/30. By increments over the past three decades they’ve been whittling away our sovereignty and now of course there’s little left of either. And we’re all knee deep in debt.  Key’s made open slather of it all and if the UN’s plan for global governance is a supposedly better system than what we had then we’d better all wake up fast because the evidence is not stacking up. Teen suicide, homelessness, poverty all on the rise while the wealthy are rolling in it. Can you not see something is really wrong with that picture?
