A special report in the Observer newspaper in the UK on 23 June 2019 asked the question: Why is life expectancy faltering? The piece noted that for the first time in 100 years, Britons are dying earlier. The UK now has the worst health trends in Western Europe.

Aside from the figures for the elderly and the deprived, there has also been a worrying change in infant mortality rates. Since 2014, the rate has increased every year: the figure for 2017 is significantly higher than the one in 2014. Looking at this article reminded me of what was going on, on UK Column News a couple of days ago. They were talking about a group of ‘Remainers’ (Those who don’t want to come out of Europe). The Remainers were saying that as so many of the old people had died since the referendum there should be another vote. What they were referring to is the fact that several thousand (can’t remember the exact figure but it’s no secret) old and sick have died because they had their benefits stopped, most of them starved. This is a policy of our Tory/neo-liberal government – done intentionally to make life unpleasent. I have trouble putting this into words. The Remainers were saying they were waiting for more to die.
The problem is that there are those in the UK who hate the old, the sick and the unemployed in fact anyone/anything that doesn’t make a buck. The NHS has been monetized as has the social security, paid for by me and many others.

    1. Now that’s exactly what’s happened here in NZ cadxx. Very sad. I recall vividly when it happened, here, Rogernomics they termed it cos of the Minister who slid it in by stealth. Wrecking experiment. Sad isn’t it, that all those people died … they don’t care, as you say they hate them.
