‘Nero fiddling while Rome burns’?

Waikanae Watch

Guru has seen the Waikanae Library building become a tomb due to willful negligence. He has seen a council with a staff turnover of 21%.  He has seen Waikanae people  hit with Rates increases of between 21 and 26% during his 3-year term.

Guru has seen Air NZ leave, Fonterra [Kapiti Cheese] leave, the Todd Group leave — all smart investors. He welcomes with open arms international exploiters who will, within 5 years move to close the airport because those paying $400,000 a section will insist on quietness. That is why they have bought on the Coast.

His councilors are certainly harmonious with him, but that’s nothing to be proud of.

    1. Aha Dave, this district has ongoing council shenanigans believe me. It’s about more than is said here. If you search the Waikanae page there for posts on the council you’ll be unpleasantly surprized. They’re all down here into property profits like pigs into muck and we wouldn’t even know about it but for independent investigative reporting.
