WHY RESCUE HELICOPTERS (PRIMARY, RELIEF, BACKUP, WHATEVER……..) SHOULDN’T BE USED IN 1080 POISON OPS

By Carol Sawyer

There has been much discussion about the helicopters used in HeliOtago’s 1080 drops being also used as rescue helicopters for the Otago Rescue Helicopter Trust.

Some people have said that toxic 1080 dust can not get into the helicopters because the blades push the dust down and away from the machines. I have been sent this film by a heli pilot who says this is not so and comments : “From about 2.50 in on this clip, has speed up so vortex is left behind, but at lower speeds it comes back through disc.”

Go to about 2.00 in this film and have a look and imagine it is lethal 1080 dust and not fertiliser. You will be horrified !

Other pilots have told me it is impossible to completely decontaminate a helicopter of 1080 dust – bad for helicopter pilots, helicopter maintenance staff, and PATIENTS – and any passengers actually. Don’t get into a 1080 poison helicopter if you can avoid it !

Prognosis 2012: Towards a New World Social Order

Well here’s one of those little twists we see on the New World Order title as it were. It comes in different other guises like, World Order (one of Jacinda’s versions) and New World Order. And this is from 2010, worth a repost I thought to familiarize you with the various cloaks global governance comes in. In fact the primary perpetrators of this new ‘happy global village’ you’re being warmed to are the Fabian Socialists whose original logo was a wolf in sheep’s clothing. You can read about the Fabian Socialists on our Agenda 21/30 NZ page, Naomi Jacobs has written a not too long e book that provides the background to all of that. EWR

Historical background – the establishment of capitalist supremacy

When the Industrial Revolution began in Britain, in the late 1700s, there was lots of money to be made by investing in factories and mills, by opening up new markets, and by gaining control of sources of raw materials. The folks who had the most money to invest, however, were not so much in Britain but more in Holland. Holland was the leading Western power in the 1600s, and its bankers were the leading capitalists. In pursuit of profit, Dutch capital flowed to the British stock market, and thus the Dutch funded the rise of Britain, who subsequently eclipsed Holland both economically and geopolitically.

In this way British industrialism came to be dominated by wealthy investors, and capitalism became the dominant economic system. This led to a major social transformation. Britain had been essentially an aristocratic society, dominated by landholding families. As capitalism became dominant economically, capitalists became dominant politically. Tax structures and import-export policies were gradually changed to favor investors over landowners.

It was no longer economically viable to simply maintain an estate in the countryside: one needed to develop it, turn it to more productive use. Victorian dramas are filled with stories of aristocratic families who fall on hard times, and are forced to sell off their properties. For dramatic purposes, this decline is typically attributed to a failure in some character, a weak eldest son perhaps. But in fact the decline of aristocracy was part of a larger social transformation brought on by the rise of capitalism.

The business of the capitalist is the management of capital, and this management is generally handled through the mediation of banks and brokerage houses. It should not be surprising that investment bankers came to occupy the top of the hierarchy of capitalist wealth and power. And in fact, there are a handful of banking families, including the Rothschilds and the Rockefellers, who have come to dominate economic and political affairs in the Western world.

Unlike aristocrats, capitalists are not tied to a place, or to the maintenance of a place. Capital is disloyal and mobile – it flows to where the most growth can be found, as it flowed from Holland to Britain, then from Britain to the USA, and most recently from everywhere to China. Just as a copper mine might be exploited and then abandoned, so under capitalism a whole nation can be exploited and then abandoned, as we see in the rusting industrial areas of America and Britain.

This detachment from place leads to a different kind of geopolitics under capitalism, as compared to aristocracy. A king goes to war when he sees an advantage to his nation in doing so. Historians can ‘explain’ the wars of pre-capitalist days, in terms of the aggrandizement of monarchs and nations.

A capitalist stirs up a war in order to make profits, and in fact our elite banking families have financed both sides of most military conflicts since at least World War 1. Hence historians have a hard time ‘explaining’ World War 1 in terms of national motivations and objectives.

In pre-capitalist days warfare was like chess, each side trying to win. Under capitalism warfare is more like a casino, where the players battle it out as long as they can get credit for more chips, and the real winner always turns out to be the house – the bankers who finance the war and decide who will be the last man standing. Not only are wars the most profitable of all capitalist ventures, but by choosing the winners, and managing the reconstruction, the elite banking families are able, over time, to tune the geopolitical configuration to suit their own interests.

Nations and populations are but pawns in their games. Millions die in wars, infrastructures are destroyed, and while the world mourns, the bankers are counting their winnings and making plans for their postwar reconstruction investments.

From their position of power, as the financiers of governments, the banking elite have over time perfected their methods of control. Staying always behind the scenes, they pull the strings controlling the media, the political parties, the intelligence agencies, the stock markets, and the offices of government. And perhaps their greatest lever of power is their control over currencies. By means of their central-bank scam, they engineer boom and bust cycles, and they print money from nothing and then loan it at interest to governments. The power of the banking elites is both absolute and subtle…

The Most Revolutionary Act

By Helen Buyniski – Helen of Destroy – August 28, 2019

If you had the opportunity to interview a whistleblower from one of the world’s most powerful companies after he’d leaked nearly 1,000 pages of internal company documents revealing the company is not only manipulating US politics, but working hard to alter the very fabric of society and mold humanity in its preferred image, surely you would take it.

We all would. Unless that whistleblower is Zach Vorhies, whom the [CIA-linked] Daily Beast – which the media has apparently declared the arbiter of who can and cannot be taken seriously – smeared in a comprehensive hit-job, cobbling together out-of-context tweets to portray the eight-year Google vet as an unhinged conspiracy theorist talking to himself and smearing (rhetorical) feces on the walls.

Somehow, the media was convinced of the reality of this portrayal – even many of the outlets that had gleefully reported on…

Foreign tourists collecting stream water on a 1080 aerial drop day … no warnings given

Remember, this is what Milford local Sacha Stevenson recently wrote to DoC about. No warning signs for tourists. Turns out they won’t be putting any up about the water, just the usual signs with the skull on to warn them since they haven’t resources to put signs up in every tourist’s language. Signs will only indicate pellets, not the risk of water contamination. And the other rationale cited, that it’s ‘extremely unlikely’ the water will be poisoned. Whatever happened to the precautionary principle? Not good enough. EWR

“Oh well”, says the NZ government, “They’re Chinese. They don’t know any different. What do we care?!”

It’s appalling actually. No self-respecting Kiwi (on second thoughts there might be a few) would drink out of those creeks in the middle of a 1080 poison drop – or afterwards. Shane Wilson watched as four busloads of tourists stopped there on “Aerial 1080 Poison Day” and filled up their water bottles. They probably thought the helicopters were taking tourists for a joyride! Shane tried to warn some of them but they didn’t understand him.

Saving bees from Bayer pesticides and mites

Dear Kitty. Some blog

How Close Are We to Saving the Bees?

Correction: Our Interview with Dr. Villalobos & scenes at the University of Hawaii at Manoa were filmed by Jonathan Keao, whose name was misspelled in the credits. We apologize for this error. Find more of Jon’s work here.

Beekeepers are losing 40-45% of their colonies each year, so scientists, farmers, and engineers are foraging for answers and creative solutions to save the bees. But how close are we?

A lack of bees would impact more than just our ability to access honey. Without bees, up to 1/3 of crops could be affected. A world sans bees could jeopardize our entire economy, health, and your second cup of coffee.

The last time you heard about bees in the news, it might have been connected with colony collapse disorder, or CCD. CCD…

Setting the record straight – Pakeha kill just as many children as Maori do, despite Maori being reported by mainstream as the “face of abuse”

Pakeha kill just as many children as Maori do, despite Maori being the “face of abuse” Raema Merchant (Lecturer EIT; BSW, MSW)

In 2017, at least 45 babies were taken the day they were born, and more than half of the newborns were removed from young Māori mothers  Whanau Ora NZ, 26/6/19

Just a reminder for those I note on forums & social media who say ‘Māori should stop abusing their children’. We are hearing that the higher proportion of children/babies uplifted by NZ authorities have been Māori babies, and going by the mainstream media hype it would be difficult not to think that Maori were the top offenders.

Not so.

Raema Merchant’s doctorate research in 2011 revealed what mainstream is generally not telling us. They have in my opinion, much to answer for in this skewing of perception, both currently and historically. EWR

Child Abuse Reporting Biased And Sensationalised

Now Pakeha media have highlighted the horror of Oranga Tamariki’s theft of    Māori children – will Government be shamed into action?

From stuff.co.nz (2011)

Pakeha kill just as many children as Maori do, despite Maori being the “face of abuse” in the media, according to a researcher.

Social work lecturer Raema Merchant said focusing on Maori parents diverts attention away from the fact Pakeha can harm children too.

“I’m not denying it’s a problem for Maori, but if we’re just focusing on Maori we’re ignoring the Pakeha side,” she said.

“It’s almost as though Pakeha are putting their heads in the sand and saying there is no Pakeha child abuse.”

Her master’s thesis at Massey University found about half of the children killed in New Zealand died at the hands of a Pakeha abuser.

Almost 9000 children were victims of physical abuse between 2000 and 2008, yet only 21 became “household names”‘ in the media, she said.

Just one-third of child deaths were reported in the press, and they were predominantly Maori cases.

Merchant urged the public and media to focus on real problems of child abuse, rather than making Maori the “face of abuse”.

“The real danger I have seen from a social worker point of view is that there are a lot of children being abused but as far as the public are concerned they only seem to know about the ones that are Maori.

“Child abuse is a problem for all people, not just for Maori.”

Merchant is already planning her next thesis, which will look at a bigger issue: whether focusing on Maori child abuse victims leads to skewed views by health professionals and the public.

This could lead to a lack of awareness of abuse occurring in Pakeha families, she said.

Merchant found physical child abuse was largely related to poverty, poor housing, inter-generational abuse, poor parenting and drugs and alcohol abuse.

Her research comes after a recent poll revealed half of New Zealanders believe child abuse has an ethnic connection.

Research New Zealand conducted the survey on how New Zealanders view the causes of child abuse, asking respondents to rank the factors they believed most contributed to the problem.

Just over half the 503 people polled said child abuse was a cultural issue, while parental experience and economic factors shared equal status at about a third each.

Child Matters chief executive Anthea Simcock said abuse was not just about one culture.

“Child abuse is right across the spectrum.”

On average, one child is killed every five weeks in New Zealand, and most victims are less than a year old.

MINISTER SAYS PARENTS NEED HELP

Mums and dads would get preferential treatment for drug and mental health problems under a radical plan to address the nation’s shocking child abuse rate.

The government is braced for criticisms of suggested changes to the current system, where state assistance is allocated on individual need rather than whether dependent children are involved.

Mandatory reporting, a re-think of the whanau-first policy when children are removed from their parents’ care, and sharing information despite privacy concerns will also be on the table when the government releases its Green Paper next week on improving children’s lives.

Social Development Minister Paula Bennett launched the review in April, saying she was incensed by the number of child abuse cases and wanted a national debate about how the problem should be tackled.

It will be launched in Auckland on Wednesday and there will be eight months of public consultation before a formal White Paper is released and the Children’s Action Plan is adopted next year.

Bennett said she was aware many of the topics in the Green Paper were controversial, but tough choices were needed to reduce child abuse.

She said she does not agree with some of the recommendations, but wants them discussed.

Barnardos boss Murray Edridge, former All Blacks hooker Norm Hewitt and former Families Commissioner Sandra Alofivae have been appointed to help lead public debate on the issues.

The more contentious topics include a legal requirement for professionals – including doctors, teachers and nurses – to report suspected child abuse cases, and monitoring at-risk children from birth in a national database.

Former Children’s Commissioner John Angus has said there are already enough reports of child abuse, and dealing with the cases properly was preferable to encouraging more reporting.

He said mandatory reporting would swamp Child Youth and Family.

Child abuse expert Patrick Kelly said many health professionals were not qualified enough to detect it.

Bennett said suggestions of greater information sharing between government agencies also extended to other family members and non-governmental organisations.

“We want to see children protected and in a safe environment, to do that we need to share information a lot more readily, and that does mean occasionally we’ll be sharing information on children who are not in danger.

“So is middle New Zealand ready for us to step into that area a bit?”

Putting parents ahead of other Kiwis in line for government services will also attract criticism.

“The example you could use is that mental health services be prioritised to mothers and fathers with small children.

“Does that mean other people wait longer?

“Should they be able to jump the queue because they have young children?”

It could also apply to drug and alcohol treatment, welfare, education and the rest of the health sector. Services are currently allocated based on need.

Bennett acknowledged that many people, particularly the elderly, would be put out by that.

“I get daily correspondence [from people] who are appalled and disgusted at those beautiful faces that they see, unfortunately week after week, who have been severely damaged or even killed at the hands of people who should be loving them.

“I suppose I’m saying to those people; what are you willing to give up for me to spend more resources on those very families?”

Three questions asked by the Green Paper: What priority should government give to the families and whanau of those caring for children when allocating services that impact on the children they are caring for? What services do you think should be included in this policy? When should adults who care for children be prioritised for services over others?

‘Ruahine Rat Explosion Caused by DoC’ – Council of Outdoor Recreation NZ

From coranz.org.nz

Department of Conservation reports of a rat explosion in the Northern Ruahine Ranges defy credibility and show the department was “out of its depth” in wilderness management according to a sporting hunters’ organisation.

Laurie Collins spokesman for the Sporting Hunters Conservation Outdoor Trust (SCHOT) said research had shown that following aerial drops of 1080 poison, the 20 percent surviving rats with much reduced food competition exploded in numbers. He cited Ruscoe’s research in 2008 “Interaction of Mammalian Pest Populations following Control” that showed rats recover quickly and increase quickly so within 18 months rat numbers would be two to three times greater than before poisoning operations.

Spending on Defense Is One Great Big Lie, by Jacob G. Hornberger

STRAIGHT LINE LOGIC

Of the hundreds of billions spent on defense spending, what is the US government defending us against? More correctly, shouldn’t it be called offensive spending, since that’s what our military does—invades other countries? From Jacob G. Hornberger at ronpaulinstitute.org:

Washington Post columnist Robert Samuelson is worried. He thinks that maybe — just maybe — the US government is not spending enough on defense. In a column entitled, “Here’s Why We Could Be Under-Spending on Defense,” Samuelson has come up with a complicated formula that has caused him to fear that China and Russia might actually be spending more money on their militaries than the United States. Bringing to mind the famous missile-gap controversy during the Cold War, Samuelson wrote, “Our reputed military superiority might be exaggerated or a statistical fiction.”

I won’t delve into Samuelson’s complicated formula for arriving at his scary conclusion because, well, it is complicated…

Amazon Fires–Latest BBC Fake News

Iowa Climate Science Education

By Paul Homewood

I’ve only been gone a couple of days, and there’s already yet more hysterical (and fake) reports across the world’s media!

“Record wildfires in the Amazon” shrieks the press, and apparently it is Brazilian President Bolsonaro who is to blame, and not global warming (though there is not much difference. Surprised they did not blame it on Trump as well).

image

Brazil’s Amazon rainforest has seen a record number of fires this year, new space agency data suggests.
